about
Hello Flannel Friends!!
Oh do we have a special song and recipe for you all on this 6th First Ever Wing Wednesday!
This month, we are paying homage to the gorgeous little town of Penticton, the summer tourist hub that saw the birth and rise of The Flannel Contract. As many of you may know, Penticton is at the heart of Canada's world famous wine country, and has always been one of the best growing areas for that sweet green sinsimilla. Come join us on an auditory trip to where we call home with the finest Okanagan Punk single, "Wine & Weed"!
And there's no better pairing with a locally crafted bottle of wine and doobie than the Animal's very own Maple Bacon wings recipe!
Maple Lavigne - B8con Boi
1 pack of bacon, halved (approx 15 slices)
½ cup BBQ sauce
4 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp red chili flakes
Bake 45 mins @ 425°F, applying glaze before and midway through cooking
lyrics
Wine And Weed lyrics:
Smoke a joint by the creek if you please, or seek shade underneath big shady trees.
Main Street when the markets in town, oh I'm sorry stranger the streets are closed down.
Drowning in wine and weed, it's just of just what you might need.
Mind the heat when you hit the beach, cool off in the lake with the peach.
'cause M.C. hammer once came to town, all the people gathered around
Rock and Roll’d the peach right away, as side to side those pants did sway
From the tip of the iceberg in the desert sand, we'll grow peaches in the sweet supple land
Sun showers kiss the sky, we're sipping syrah counting days go right by.
Wait… Wait… Wait… Traveling west.
Ogopogo, oh no there he go.
Don’t you know, what's down in the undertow.
Don't you know, oh what you gotta know.
Don't you know, what's lurking down below.
Drowning in wine and weed, oh we've got way too much of just what your mind needs.
Oh so mind the hit when you hit the beach, oh and cool off in the lake life's a peach!
